The #2 Pencil Explained: How HB, 2B, and 4H Map to What You're Actually Doing
Standardized test instructions have asked for a "#2 pencil" for generations, while every art store shelf is organized by letters — HB, 2B, 4H — leaving a lot of people unsure whether these are the same system or two different ones. The letter scale: hardness and blackness
